Prosciutto is an Italian word to translate “ham” but if you have never eaten the DPO products like “Prosciutto of San Daniele” or a “Prosciutto di Parma” it’s very difficult to explain to you how different is the taste from all the others ham. They are incredible, believe us!
Prosciutto is made only from the pigs’ hind legs and aged in a dry-curing process. There are the prosciutto cotto, which is cooked, and the prosciutto crudo, which is uncooked, yet cured.
